Comoé Capital gives special attention to the education sector.

Since 2017, Comoé Capital manages the Education Impact Fund (EIF), the first impact fund dedicated to education in Côte d’Ivoire that finances start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises in the education sector (schools, professional training, bookstores, services to educational institutions, information technology).

The Education Impact Fund (EIF) is the first sector fund entirely dedicated to the education sector in Côte d’Ivoire. Created in 2017 by Comoé Capital, Investisseurs et Partenaires (I&P) and the Jacobs Foundation, this fund provides financial and managerial support to small Ivorian companies and start-ups that aim to improve the quality of and/or access to education.

This fund is supported by the Jacobs Foundation, a Swiss organization that has been working for several years to improve the living conditions of children and youth in Côte d’Ivoire, particularly through its TRECC (Transforming Education in Cocoa Communities) program.

Nature of the funding

Seed funding (to assist the entrepreneur in the maturation of his project) or capital investment (to support growth).

Investment tickets

Between 6 million and 150 million FCFA per file.

Investment period

Between 4 and 7 years old. For the capital investment, the shares of Comoé Capital are then sold according to the promoter's vision and via a mechanism defined at the time of investment.

Selection criteria

Schools and higher education institutions (primary and/or secondary schools, local universities, training centers, etc.)
Start-ups, companies and private actors providing services to educational institutions (printing houses, publishing houses, educational technologies, etc.)
Managed by competent and ambitious entrepreneurs wishing to structure and grow in partnership with an institutional investor
With strong growth potential, based on innovation or a clear competitive advantage
Offering opportunities to create positive social and/or environmental impact
Active in the education sector and all regions of Côte d'Ivoire
